GROWING IN THE NORTH POLE
A group of entrepreneurs from Greenland reached us to develop a Vertical Farm Project in the city of Nuuk.
THE ANALYSIS AND PROPOSAL
We analyzed the variables and building’s characteristics to optimize the design and crop production. The investors gave us the objective to determine the best setup and production planning having in consideration market demands, available resources, and local characteristics from the city. The climate challenged the setup with lowest temperatures around -30ºC many days of the year.
We undergo a business study to guarantee the most profitable production and success of the business. Variables as water, electricity, CO2 concentration, labor management and other resources were coordinated to obtain the targeted benefits.
The client had a limited budget, so we propose to the client a Plug & Play setup to reduce installation costs. We reach a final design after 4 weeks of calculations and redesign.
All our systems are preassembled and ready to connect to the pipelines and electricity services at installation site.
H2HYDROPONICS advised and proposed lighting setup to fit the project in collaboration with our lighting partners.
THE PROPOSAL: CONSULTANCY
There were several challenges to overcome in this project from the technical point of view as well as from the implementation point of view. The budget was limited and we were completely aligned with our client GREENLANDIC GREENHOUSE so we proposed a plug&play project, to reduce installation costs, H2HYDROPONICS always sends all its solutions pre-assembled, ready to connect to the pipe and work.

THE PROYECT
For our customers in Greenland
We designed a productive vertical H2HYBRID system in 4 layers with a net cultivation area of 400m2. The design included irrigation lines, fertigation and control equipment required for a close loop and recirculation of the nutrient solution.
The automation, control and dosing of the nutrient solution is controlled by our T-Control; ranging from auxiliary pump, electronic dozers, pH, EC, pressure and temperature control in the nutrient solution.
H2HYBRID.
We also developed the nutrient solution formula for multicrop production in the setup. They can grow salads, herbs and fruits using our balanced nutrient solution for all desired crops.
H2HYDROPONICS send the equipment and one technician during 7 days to complete the installation and commissioning of the project.
THE RESULT
The system was built in 4 weeks and 4 weeks later clients were harvesting the first crops.
Thanks to the technology, consultancy and online support from H2HYDROPONICS, Greenlandic Greenhouses has year-round crops.
Currently produce over 20 different crops to meet the demand for high quality and super fresh produce from Nuuk and other cities all across Greenland.
